California Proposition 65 Compliance
Product safety is important at Bobcat Armament, and we want to ensure that all products sold by us comply with all applicable health and safety requirements.
Understanding California Proposition 65 ("Prop 65")
California Proposition 65, in its simplest form, prohibits businesses from exposing California residents to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity without first either proving that the level of exposure to such chemicals is insignificant or providing a warning about the chemicals in the products. The State of California has identified over 900 chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity. Due to the extensive nature of this list, which includes many common chemicals, proving insignificant levels of all listed chemicals can be challenging. As a result, most of our vendors comply with Prop 65 by providing California residents with a warning, which generally reads:
"WARNING: This product contains one or more chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm."
"WARNING: This product contains one or more chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm."
Prop 65 Compliance and Our Products
Since every retailer selling in California must comply with Prop 65, most of our vendors label their products with a Prop 65 warning if they might contain one or more of the chemicals listed by the State of California, even if those products are sold in other states. Prop 65 is unique to California, and no other state currently requires the same or similar warnings as those mandated by Prop 65.
We work closely with our vendors to ensure that all products sold by Bobcat Armament are compliant with Prop 65. In some instances, Bobcat Armament provides the Prop 65 warning directly on the product information page of our website. If a Prop 65 warning does not appear on the product information page, it means either:
*The vendor of the product has indicated that the product does not require the Prop 65 warning (because the product is not subject to Prop 65, does not contain any of the listed chemicals, or does not contain a sufficient amount of such chemicals); or
*If a warning is required, the vendor has placed the warning on the product or its packaging.
